On a grey winter day in March the wet melting snow and rain brought out the colours and textures in the rocks, grates and even the bark on trees in the neighbourhood.   The reflections in the melting snowbanks created a moody effect that could not be ignored.

“I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape — the lonelines of it, the dead feeling of winter.  Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show.”

- Andrew Wyeth
