Paper Pulp and Wire

Along with painting and photography I am also working in the medium of sculpture.  I am in the process of developing some maquettes working with paper pulp, wire and copper.  Since sculpture is very much focused on process and technique, the manipulation of paper dictates a more delicate approach that reveals surprises at every stage in terms of texture and feel.  Working with paper is such a different process than working in bronze or ceramics—it offers new and organic ways of exploring sculpture that is quite exciting.  Here are some glimpses of a couple of maquettes I am working on–the pouring of acrylic paints onto the sculpture has created some interesting effects.
